Item ordered: Mixed fresh fruit cake Service: Fast and good! Value: Pretty good! The Review: The cake may have looked good, but most importantly it made ME look good when I brought it to work for my coworker's birthday. Everyone was Oo-ing and Aah-ing at the beautiful cake. Once they'd actually tasted it, the compliments kept coming. I'm on a gluten-free diet so I couldn't eat it, but the people say that it's light and creamy and not too sweet. We buy a cake for every birthday at work. Everyone voted this to be their favorite of all time. Thank you, May's!

I'm in love with Mango!!! When searching for the most over the top mango cake, impress your burfday person and all the other foodies you call friends, go to May's in Chinatown. The spot is exactly what you would expect when arriving; plan to park 3 blocks away, cars parked 3 cars deep with their hazards on, CASH ONLY and an authentic Chinese atmosphere in their bake shop. is it worth the effort? YES!!! The cake itself is a fluffy sponge, intense mango flavor, creamy butter cream with fresh fruit cake. It's a labor of love. Tempted to go back and eat one all by myself. The woman who helped me behind the counter was so kind and gave me birthday candles for free since I only had the exact amount of cash needed to get the cake. $40 for a 6", well worth the price 9/22/24). And I must mention they have lots of other traditional Chinese baked goods both savory and sweet in their display case for sale. My strategy next time is to go with a friend and double park while they wait in the car. Lolz

Ordered a mixed fruit cake for a friend's birthday. I placed the order over the phone a few days in advance. It was delicious--and, importantly, not too sweet! It was $43 for an 8 inch cake for 8 people. The place is cash only. They taped two candles to the box with the cake, which was nice.

I typically come here every morning before work to grab a small bite for breakfast. For $5, you can grab a few things. Hotdog bun and one fried crispy dumpling with pork filling inside is only $3.55. Sticky rice is $3.95 with chicken inside. Their rice porridge is like $3 for a small. It comes with ground pork and black eggs. Definitely a good spot to come and get your Chinese bakery goods.

I came here to get something other than cake (surprisingly enough) and ended up with big bun 大包and sticky rice 粽子. I was surprised by the filling of the big bun because it had sausage egg and a shiitake mushroom in it. Typically, I'm used to pork buns just having... well, pork. Bun had a Thick! skin to filling ratio with the skin being on the sweeter side. I haven't tasted the sticky rice yet. Service is standard chinatown service, quick in and out.

I think they now hold the title for best char siu bao in chinatown. They have the closest version to the ones from the Eldo cake and coffee shop that's been closed from Covid. The last time I was here I also pick Ed up a couple of their beef cheung fun as well and they were pretty damn good also. They use thinly sliced seasoned beef which gives it a unique texture.

My go to place for birthday cakes. I would always get the mango mousse cake. The mangoes and fruits are fresh and the cake is not overly sweet. Just perfect.
